In commemoration of the 2007 National Cherry Blossom Festival which kicks-off tomorrrow - Saturday, 31 March 2007 - may I bring your attention to a collection of never before seen images taken exactly one year ago, today, when in celebration of the 2006 National Cherry Blossom Festival that my 31 March 2006 Friday Afternoon Photo Walk took me from downtown at Freedom Plaza, across the National Mall and over to the Tidal Basin before returning home by way of the Southwest Waterfront Marina.

J18-03 Photos Never Before Seen
On Saturday, 18 January 2003, I would document one of the largest anti-war demonstrations to have marched through the streets of Washington DC. Which in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday proceeded from a morning rally on the National Mall along Independence and Pennsylvania avenues, pass the US Capitol, through Capitol Hill and down 8th and M streets to the Navy Yard.
Though the organizers, A.N.S.W.E.R. International, estimated half a million, the Washington Post and other press rounded the figure closer to 200,000. Which, in any case exceeded the 100,000 that, on 26 October 2002, marched onto the White House.

33rd March for Life Photos Never Before Seen
And as is the case with much of my earlier photography I regard my first documentation of the annual March for Life, in Washington DC, which took place on 22 January 1999 of the 26th Annual March for Life amongst my best work.
My second documentation was in January 2005 of the 32nd March for Life. And since most of those film negatives have not yet been processed, my hope, in the future, may will be to curate a 2005 MFL Photographs Never Before Seen exhibition.
However, in commemoration of the upcoming 2007 MFL I am now launching an online 33rd March for Life . WDC . 23 January 2006 Photographs Never Before Seen exhibiton which features never before seen digital images from the Monday, 23 January 2006, March from the National Mall to the Supreme Court.
